The globe sits on an axis tilted at the same angle as the Earth's axis. Like most Ugears models, the Globe is animated by a rubber-band motor. In this case, however, the motor uses a different type of winding method. A lever in the base, pulled once clockwise, winds the mechanism itself. As soon as the lever is released, the gears start working. To slow the rotation of the globe, Globus uses a pendulum reduction mechanism. However, if you want it to rotate even more slowly, you can rotate the Globe manually and watch the continents slowly pass by.

In addition to the main module, the model comes with two interchangeable add-on modules:

• shuttle
• and Sputnik.

Choose which satellite you want circling your Globe today and set it on the special support. The satellites are also powered by a rubber-band motor and attach to the main module via a planetary gear. This connection allows the satellites to rotate almost twice as fast as the globe, and they will make almost two full rotations per pull of the winding lever.
